Potassium Chloride and Potassium Magnesium Sulfate
in Animal Nutrition
Potassium plays a role in proper muscle function and in various enzyme systems. Body storage of potassium is low; therefore, it is required daily in the diet.
Ruminants, especially high-producing dairy animals, are more likely to develop potassium deficiencies than monogastric animals. Potassium chloride is the primary supplemental product because of its high potassium content and biological availability.
