Feed-Grade Calcium
Calcium in Animal Nutrition
Known as the essential ingredient in an animal’s skeletal
system, calcium also plays a role in nerve impulse transmission, blood
clotting, milk production and eggshell development. It impacts tooth
development, heart beat regulation and reproduction. It’s the most abundant
mineral found in the body, and adequate dietary levels of calcium are required
daily. Our calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is an ideal choice because of
its purity, high calcium content and high bioavailability.
The products offered by ILC Resources range from powders to
granular products—under 10 microns to more than 3000 microns in size—to meet a
variety of mixing needs. We also provide custom blends to meet the exact
manufacturing and feeding requirements of
our customers.
FRE FLO™ is our most popular granular blend and delivers the
greatest particle size range to optimize animal performance, nutrient digestion
and utilization. It is used in mills manufacturing feed for all species.
FRE FLO™ CUSTOM - Our flexible custom blending system allows ILC
Resources to produce granular blends to the particular specifications of your
mill.
SHELL & BONE BUILDER™ - Our product is high in calcium, low in solubility
and ideal for laying hens. It is a proven oyster shell replacer.
SHELL & BONE BUILDER
BLEND™ - This is a high calcium, low
solubility blend of hen and pullet-sized calcium carbonate. It is suited for
most mechanical feeding systems for layers.
UNICAL™ F - This is a high calcium, medium-low solubility
product, sized for growing pullets and turkeys.
UNICAL™ L - This product is a larger, coarsely textured
uniform granule that is ideal for mixing with other mineral ingredients. It is
used in premixes and base mixes.
UNICAL™ S - Our finely textured uniform granule is a
"mixing calcium" for complete feeds and mineral mixes for all
species.
UNICAL™ P - This 200-mesh powder is used in liquid
suspensions and dry feed. It also is an excellent pellet-dusting agent.
UNICAL™ UF - This is an ultra fine powder for liquid feed
supplements and suspensions.
Feed-grade
calcium carbonate is listed by the Association of American Feed Control
Officials (AAFCO) as feed ingredient number 57.10. Calcium carbonate is
certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as being G.R.A.S.
(Generally Recognized as Safe). Calcium carbonate also is approved as meeting
"organic" specifications under the National Organic Program (NOP)
guidelines. All ILC Resources' feed-grade calcium carbonate products meet these
designations.
